TOWERING OVER THE REST
PB provided a turnkey package for a Tampa based
customer by providing the design, engineering, detailing,
fabrication, coatings, and installation of a 12’ diameter x 40‘
tall API 650 storage tank. This vessel was fabricated at our
Adamo facility and installed by PB construction division
team members for a customer. This vessel featured a
spiral staircase and a two-coat shop applied paint system.
This project is an example of the value-added services PB
provides our customers by offering a complete package that
reduces lost time of interface between multiple companies
during project design and installation.

Season’s Greetings
FROM THE CEO
2
I hope this holiday season finds you
in good health and high spirits! In a
world often dominated by headlines
of crises, conflicts, and challenges, it
can be easy to lose sight of the many
reasons for optimism. Amidst the
turbulence of our times, there
are clear indications that should
inspire hope and positivity, both in
the realm of our business and on a
global scale.
Our business has proven its resilience time and time again.
We’ve weathered economic downturns, market fluctuations, and
unforeseen challenges and have emerged stronger as a result of
overcoming these obstacles. This resilience is a testament to our
teams ability to adapt, improve, and find new opportunities. We are
currently enjoying an increase in demand for the unique products
and services we provide, so we are excited about our future.
The rapid pace of technological advancements has opened new
horizons for businesses. While the headlines are filled with the
promise of artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics, it
is the individual effort and improvement of our team members that
is driving our advancement. We will continue to incorporate new
equipment and techniques to make us more efficient, accomplish
our work in a safer manner and in less time, but all of these are
simply better tools in the hands of our professionals. One example
is our incorporation of cobots for welding in our shops this past year,
which I like to compare to a skilled builder who is able to do their job
faster with a nail gun than they could with a hammer. The work is
accomplished faster and safer, but it still takes a professional to do the
job correctly. Thanks to our team for their willingness to try new
things to make us better.
We are going to continue to focus on attention to detail and doing
things right the first time. As a team, we have made significant
improvements in efficiency which have helped us to identify that
by eliminating rework, we can take the next steps in productivity.
In today’s fast-paced world, where efficiency and productivity are
highly prized, there is often a temptation to hurry through tasks in
an attempt to save time. However, the age-old adage “haste makes
waste” still holds true, especially in welding. Doing things correctly
the first time is, in fact, more time-efficient and beneficial.
One of the primary reasons why taking the time to do things correctly
is faster is because it eliminates the need for time-consuming
revisions, corrections, and rework. In welding, the time for repairs is
exponentially more than the initial time required. Rushing through
a task leads to errors, oversights, or incomplete work, necessitating
additional time to rectify mistakes. I am optimistic that our collective
focus on doing things right the first time and being quick in our
work, but never at the sacrifice of quality, will be beneficial for us
all in the coming year. We want to make sure that our focus is on
achievement and not activity.
The last eight pages of this newsletter are filled with pictures of
important people. We are pleased to recognize the Precision Build
team members who have at least five years of service and sadly share
some short stories about friends we have lost. David, Brian, and
Kathie each contributed to our team in their own ways and will be
missed.
There are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future of our
business. By leveraging our strengths, embracing innovation, and
staying attuned to market dynamics, we can navigate any challenge
and seize opportunities as they arise. Together, we can continue to
build a bright and prosperous future for our company. Thank you
for your dedication and commitment to our shared vision. I look
forward to working with you to capitalize on the exciting prospects
that lie ahead.

BIG BRIDGES REQUIRE BIG GIRDERS
PB was asked to assist a partner fabrication company on a South
Florida Bridge Project. Our scope of work included three large
box girders and a progressive assembly of the boxes and their
associated connection tub girders.
Fabricated with 3 1/2” thick flange plate material, the box girders
are up to 67’ long and weight approximately 200,000 lbs. each.
This project featured HPS 70 plate material with complete joint
penetration welds for much of the project. PB utilized induction
heating systems and semi-automated welding processes to
perform efficient, high-quality welds and achieve stellar results.
After fabrication, these boxes were put into a progressive assembly
to match drill all connections and connection materials.
Fabricated at our Athens, Illinois facility, these 5,200-gallon,
stainless-steel tanks have proven to be a hit. Built to customer
specifications, these tanks are a turnkey-solution for customers
seeking the highest quality fabrication from one highly diversified
facility. So far, PB has received 24-orders for stainless steel tanks
like these, and the year isn’t over yet!

BUILDING GIRDERS FOR A
RAILROAD BRIDGE
4
The PB fabrication team has begun work on the second
series of eight large girders for a railroad bridge. These 185’
long x 12’ tall girders weigh more than 200,000 lbs. This
project requires that all material is CNC drilled prior to
fabrication to allow for a more efficient assembly process.
The webs have more than 2,500 holes per girder. The
flange material is 3” thick and receives a complete joint
penetration weld for the entire length of the girder. PB
utilizes an induction heating and semiautomated welding
process to increase efficiency and reduce weld defects.
After fabrication is completed, the bridges will be fully
assembled before shipment in Florida.
PB has engineered, fabricated, and erected three shop-built
tanks and ten field erected tanks for a customer in Georgia.
These tanks range in size from 14’ to 29’ in diameter and 16’
to 32’ in height, with eight of the tanks requiring internal
floating roofs. They will be used to store multiple products.
The shop built tanks were fabricated at our Adamo facility
in Tampa and shipped as over-dimensional loads to the
erection site. Field erection was executed by one of our PB
field crews with all the required welding certifications,
PQR and WPS, as well as certifications in complete
accordance with ASME Section IX.

WE MOURN THE PASSING OF THREE
PRECISION BUILD / TT-FSS FAMILY MEMBERS
DAVID E. NEWLIN
David Newlin of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on July
13, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons disease.
Recognized as a top, worldwide tank and structural engineer,
David was well respected by the industry and many “old
timers” at TT-FSS. David
worked in the tank and
structural industry for
forty-seven years, the
last thirty with TT-FSS,
before retiring in 2014.
He came to us in 1984
with a master’s degree in
Structural Engineering
and earned, during his
tenure, his master’s in
business administration.
While at TT-FSS, David
created and developed
a professional engineering department to guide our
expansion and manage our nascent field construction arm.
David’s contributions made him a primary driver in the
growth of our company, creating a path to excellence, that
is today, continued by Precision Build. David’s contributions
were recognized in 2021 through an endowment placed
with Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, the
Allen, Hester, Newlin Scholarships in welding and fitting,
named for three key employees, skilled in their profession
and dedicated to their lifes work.
BRIAN ALBERT
Brian Albert passed away
on September 25, 2023,
after a lengthy battle with
cancer. Brian was hired
by TT-FSS in 2006 as
CFO and Controller, and
he immediately faced the
challenge of overseeing a
major technical upgrade
of the company’s financial
and management control
systems. He took the
reins at a time when the
company was enjoying significant foreign and domestic
growth, but also moving rapidly into high-tech fabrication.
Brian worked at TT-FSS for 12 years, until he stepped down
in 2018. Brians skills and leadership paved the way for much
of our company’s success and spurred the development
of the financial and administrative team we depend on
today. Many here at PB worked with Brian and enjoyed his
professionalism, his company and his friendship.
KATHLEEN MAY CHAMBRY
Kathleen (Kathie) Chambry of Riverview, FL, passed away
on September 22, 2023. She was just 52 years old. Kathie was
our sole steel Purchasing Manager for the past 4 years. She
touched many lives here
at Precision Build, in the
very best way. So many
of us are grateful we got
the chance to know her
as both a colleague and a
friend. Kathie had a bright
and vibrant presence
about her. She had the
most beautiful radiant
smile, was so full of life
and knew no stranger. She
loved the beach, with her
toes in the sand and sun
on her face. She loved amusement parks and cruising on the
high seas. And whenever possible, you would find her and
her husband out on their Harley motorcycle getting some
“Wind Therapy.” Kathy was a sweet and beautiful soul, and
we hope she is with the angels and riding like the wind.
