Season’s Greetings
FROM THE CEO
2
I hope this holiday season finds you
in good health and high spirits! In a
world often dominated by headlines
of crises, conflicts, and challenges, it
can be easy to lose sight of the many
reasons for optimism. Amidst the
turbulence of our times, there
are clear indications that should
inspire hope and positivity, both in
the realm of our business and on a
global scale.
Our business has proven its resilience time and time again.
We’ve weathered economic downturns, market fluctuations, and
unforeseen challenges and have emerged stronger as a result of
overcoming these obstacles. This resilience is a testament to our
team’s ability to adapt, improve, and find new opportunities. We are
currently enjoying an increase in demand for the unique products
and services we provide, so we are excited about our future.
The rapid pace of technological advancements has opened new
horizons for businesses. While the headlines are filled with the
promise of artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics, it
is the individual effort and improvement of our team members that
is driving our advancement. We will continue to incorporate new
equipment and techniques to make us more efficient, accomplish
our work in a safer manner and in less time, but all of these are
simply better tools in the hands of our professionals. One example
is our incorporation of cobots for welding in our shops this past year,
which I like to compare to a skilled builder who is able to do their job
faster with a nail gun than they could with a hammer. The work is
accomplished faster and safer, but it still takes a professional to do the
job correctly. Thanks to our team for their willingness to try new
things to make us better.
We are going to continue to focus on attention to detail and doing
things right the first time. As a team, we have made significant
improvements in efficiency which have helped us to identify that
by eliminating rework, we can take the next steps in productivity.
In today’s fast-paced world, where efficiency and productivity are
highly prized, there is often a temptation to hurry through tasks in
an attempt to save time. However, the age-old adage “haste makes
waste” still holds true, especially in welding. Doing things correctly
the first time is, in fact, more time-efficient and beneficial.
One of the primary reasons why taking the time to do things correctly
is faster is because it eliminates the need for time-consuming
revisions, corrections, and rework. In welding, the time for repairs is
exponentially more than the initial time required. Rushing through
a task leads to errors, oversights, or incomplete work, necessitating
additional time to rectify mistakes. I am optimistic that our collective
focus on doing things right the first time and being quick in our
work, but never at the sacrifice of quality, will be beneficial for us
all in the coming year. We want to make sure that our focus is on
achievement and not activity.
The last eight pages of this newsletter are filled with pictures of
important people. We are pleased to recognize the Precision Build
team members who have at least five years of service and sadly share
some short stories about friends we have lost. David, Brian, and
Kathie each contributed to our team in their own ways and will be
missed.
There are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future of our
business. By leveraging our strengths, embracing innovation, and
staying attuned to market dynamics, we can navigate any challenge
and seize opportunities as they arise. Together, we can continue to
build a bright and prosperous future for our company. Thank you
for your dedication and commitment to our shared vision. I look
forward to working with you to capitalize on the exciting prospects
that lie ahead.
